"Frozen Honey": A Boardgame for Saxophone Quartet

Programme Note:

When I was four years old, I played in a fresh blizzard of snow.

It blanketed every inch of my favorite park in reams of cold, bright white.

 

With my friend, I would gather up the freshest snow into a large green bowl.

In his kitchen, we would use our hands to mix the gleaming snow through liquid honey.

 

Our tongues would lap at each cold, crisp bite of Frozen Honey.

Our ears and throats were cold, but our tongues and hearts were warm.
